Veteran Q&A
Can I volunteer with Wounded Warriors? How to help besides donating
There is no individual volunteer sign-up right now; group volunteering runs through employer partnerships. Here are the four things that help most today.
Wounded Warriors (national 501(c)(3), EIN 86-1336741) is a small team that runs a free national directory of 143,700+ veteran resources plus direct-aid programs. We do not currently run an individual volunteer program with scheduled shifts. Volunteer engagement for teams is arranged through our corporate partnerships. For individuals, the help below makes the biggest difference.Detail
- Share the directory: send warriorsfund.org to one veteran or military family you know, and tell them to start with their county veteran service officer (listed by ZIP code).
- Fix a listing: if you know a phone number, address or program on the site is wrong or closed, email info@warriorsfund.org with the listing name and the correction. Each report is checked against the source agency.
- Give through your employer: many employers match gifts 1:1 or better. Search for Wounded Warriors in your company giving portal, or see /donate/corporate-match for step-by-step instructions by employer.
- Give monthly or by check: a recurring gift (/the-watch) or a check payable to "Wounded Warriors" (/donate/by-mail/) keeps the directory verified year-round. The EIN 86-1336741 memo line is optional.
- Teams and companies: employee volunteer engagement, sponsorships and matching-gift setup go through /corporate/ or info@warriorsfund.org.
- Veterans service officers and nonprofits: if your organization serves veterans and is missing from the directory, email info@warriorsfund.org to be added at no charge.
