A DAF grant is not a new deduction for your client: the deduction was taken when the fund was funded. For Fidelity Charitable, DAFgiving360 and BNY Mellon, DAF Direct on our DAF page opens the sponsor’s grant form with Wounded Warriors already selected. IRA qualified charitable distributions (QCD)

For clients 70½ or older, a QCD sent by the IRA custodian directly to Wounded Warriors is excluded from income and can count toward the year’s required minimum distribution. IRS Publication 590-B sets the 2026 limit at $111,000 per person, and the distribution must leave the IRA by December 31.

  1. Use the custodian’s QCD form, or print the custodian letter on our QCD page — it fills in the legal name, tax ID and mailing address.
  2. Ask the custodian to make the check payable to Wounded Warriors and mail it to the address above.
  3. Email info@warriorsfund.org with the client’s name, the custodian and the amount, so we can match the check and send the acknowledgment.

Gift acknowledgments and who to contact

  • Checks: gifts of $250 or more are acknowledged in writing by mail to the return address on the check. Any donor can ask for a receipt by email.

  • IRA QCD: a written acknowledgment is sent on request; the QCD is excluded from income rather than deducted.
  • DAF grants: the sponsoring organization is the grantor of record.
  • Returned, voided or reissued checks (DAF, custodian or bank bill-pay): contact info@warriorsfund.org.
