Give in honor or memory of a veteran
Honor someone who served — with a gift that funds free help for veterans, and a card you can hand them yourself.
Three ways to make a tribute gift
- Online Give at warriorsfund.org/donate and choose in honor or in memory in the form, then type the veteran's name and, if you like, who should receive the acknowledgment. The PayPal option has a note field for the same details.
- By check Payable to Wounded Warriors, with "In honor of" or "In memory of" and the name on the memo line. The printable giving form has an in-honor line and a place for the family's address. Mailing instructions →
- Donor-advised fund Recommend a grant to Wounded Warriors and put "In honor of [name]" in the grant memo. Instructions by sponsor →
The veteran or family receives an acknowledgment that names them and you (unless you ask to stay anonymous). The gift amount is never included. Your tax receipt comes to you separately.

Questions
How do I make a gift in honor or in memory of someone?
Give online at warriorsfund.org/donate and choose the "in honor" or "in memory" option in the form, then enter the veteran's name. If you give by check, write "In honor of" or "In memory of" and the name on the memo line. If you give through a donor-advised fund, put the same wording in the grant memo.
Will the person or family see the amount?
No. A tribute acknowledgment names the veteran and the giver (unless you ask to stay anonymous) and never includes the gift amount. Your own tax receipt is sent to you separately.
Is a tribute gift tax-deductible?
Yes. Wounded Warriors is a 501(c)(3) public charity, so a tribute gift is deductible to the extent the law allows. You receive the receipt; the honoree or family receives the acknowledgment.
What is the honor card on this page?
A free printable card you can fill in and give to the veteran or family yourself — on Veterans Day, at a service, or with a note. It is created in your browser; nothing you type is sent to us or saved.
Can I direct an obituary or event to this page?
Yes. Use the legal name Wounded Warriors and the address warriorsfund.org/donate/in-honor. Gifts made that way are acknowledged to the family you name.
