VA hospitals, clinics, vet centers, benefits offices, mental health, housing, employment, and VSO posts. 75% of records FIPS-tract geocoded; URLs health-monitored; 501(c)(3) rows ProPublica Form 990 cross-referenced. Default search returns veteran-focused only; include_general=1 for full corpus.

ACS Tract-Level Veteran Demographics (2022)
US Census Bureau ACS 5-year (2022) tract-level demographics for 84,365 tracts joined with our resource directory. Veteran count, veteran percentage, poverty count + percentage, unemployment, median household income — all keyed on FIPS state/county/tract. Used to identify "service deserts" — high-veteran-density tracts with no nearby resources.

CDC PLACES Tract-Level Veteran Health Context (2023)
CDC PLACES 2023 BRFSS-modeled tract-level health prevalence estimates for 78,815 tracts. Eight measures relevant to veteran services: depression, poor mental health, no health insurance, any disability, current smoking, binge drinking, obesity, diabetes. Joined with veteran density and resource counts to surface tracts where vets face crisis-level health risk AND resource gaps simultaneously.

ACS Tract-Level Housing Cost Burden for Veterans (2022)
ACS 2022 housing cost data for 80,147 tracts: median gross rent, median home value, renter household count, share paying 30%+ of income on rent (HUD rent-burdened) and 50%+ (severely rent-burdened). Joined with veteran density to identify tracts where vets are most crushed by housing costs and most under-served by HUD-VASH/SSVF.

U.S. Veteran Service Deserts by County
County-ranked open dataset of directory coverage for veterans. ACS 2022 5-year tract veteran counts joined to tract-geocoded listings in the Wounded Warriors open resource directory by FIPS, aggregated to county and scored by coverage gap (veterans per directory listing). It measures directory coverage, not whether services exist. 2,002 counties with 1,000+ veterans each; includes the county with the widest directory gap in every state. Built for journalists + grantmakers — each region gets a localizing stat.
