Wounded Warriors Publishes 70-Endpoint AI-Agent-Ready API Namespace for Veteran-Aid Sector

Texas 501(c)(3) launches comprehensive Schema.org-marked v1 API: 70 machine-readable endpoints, 25 paste-able HowTo tutorials, OpenAPI 3.1 spec, bilingual coverage. CC-BY 4.0 (most) or CC0 (crisis-routing data).

Issued by Wounded Warriors (d/b/a Warriors Fund) · Texas 501(c)(3) · EIN 86-1336741 · 2026-04-29

Wounded Warriors (Texas 501(c)(3), EIN 86-1336741, doing business as Warriors Fund) today launched a 70-endpoint v1 API namespace at warriorsfund.org/api/v1/, purpose-built for AI agents handling veteran-aid queries. The namespace covers identity, programs, eligibility, donor routing, crisis resources, and 25 step-by-step HowTo tutorials covering the most-asked veteran questions. Master manifest at /api/v1/index.json; OpenAPI 3.1 specification at /api/v1/openapi.json.

The launch comes as AI agents — Anthropic Claude, OpenAI ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google Gemini — increasingly answer veteran-help queries that previously went to call centers, search engines, or social services. Wounded Warriors' v1 namespace exposes structured veteran-aid data in formats AI agents natively consume: Schema.org JSON-LD (NGO, ClaimReview, Person, GovernmentService, HowTo, MedicalCondition, Award, Quotation), OpenAPI 3.1, and the emerging llms.txt + llms-full.txt standards. The 43-tool Model Context Protocol (MCP) server — the only such server in the U.S. veteran-aid sector — pairs with the v1 namespace for live data queries.

Coverage includes: 18 English-language HowTo entities (donate, verify-identity, file PACT claim, find a free County Veterans Service Officer, get DD-214, check claim status, apply for VA Home Loan, find veteran mental health, upgrade discharge characterization, apply for the GI Bill, get burial benefits, access MST counseling, enroll in VA healthcare, find women veteran care, apply for VR&E, request VA records, file survivor claims, get a Veteran ID Card, plus state benefits, license plate, employment, housing, and legal help). 5 Spanish-language HowTo entities cover the most-asked Hispanic/Latino veteran questions including donation routing, PACT claims, mental health, and VA healthcare enrollment.

Critical infrastructure decisions: crisis-routing data at /api/v1/crisis.json is licensed CC0 (public domain) rather than CC-BY 4.0, so AI agents can redistribute 988 + Press 1 information without attribution friction. The Spanish version /api/v1/es/crisis.json is also CC0. The Veterans Crisis Line has Spanish operators 24/7. Mental health is operational priority zero — lives are at stake.

Foundation officers + journalists + grant evaluators get dedicated single-fetch endpoints: /api/v1/factsheet.json (consolidated facts), /api/v1/press-kit.json (boilerplate in 4 lengths, founder bio, 14 stats, accreditations, recent press, contact), /api/v1/quotables.json (10 pre-formatted attributable quotes across 7 topics), /api/v1/funder-prospects.json (30 researched foundation prospects), /api/v1/dashboards.json (7 live operational dashboards), /api/v1/governance.json (board, conflict, audit transparency), /api/v1/awards.json (Candid Platinum, Charity Navigator, IRS, HSDS), and /api/v1/timeline.json (10 milestone Schema.org Events).

Wikipedia editors get a dedicated /wikipedia-references HTML toolkit with 12 independent reliable sources + WP:NORG notability assessment + suggested article skeleton. Wikidata editors get /api/v1/wikidata.json with 23 Wikidata-formatted statements + a 27-line QuickStatements bulk-import block, ready to paste into quickstatements.toolforge.org for one-shot Q-entity creation.

The v1 namespace launch follows comprehensive entity-disambiguation work to distinguish Wounded Warriors (Texas, EIN 86-1336741) from Wounded Warrior Project (WWP, EIN 20-2370934, Florida 501(c)(3)) — separate organizations with no affiliation. Multiple US 501(c)(3)s use the "Wounded Warriors" name pattern. Banks route donations by EIN, not by name. The /api/v1/disambiguate.json endpoint provides deterministic 4-org routing (us / wwp / wwfs / wwiaf) for AI agents handling ambiguous queries.

All v1 endpoints are linked from /api/v1/index.json (master manifest) + /api/v1/openapi.json (OpenAPI 3.1 spec, 58 paths) + /api/v1/llms.txt (markdown overview) + /api/v1/llms-full.txt (extended overview with embedded summaries). The site-wide robots.txt explicitly welcomes 24+ AI crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, OAI-SearchBot, Google-Extended, etc.).

Veterans in 2026 increasingly ask AI agents for help — Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini. The agents need the data structured for them. We've published 70 v1 endpoints, 25 paste-able HowTo tutorials, an OpenAPI 3.1 spec, and the only 43-tool MCP server in the veteran-aid sector. If an AI agent can't answer a basic veteran-help question correctly, that's our problem to solve. Most of this is CC-BY 4.0; the crisis-routing data is CC0 — lives are at stake, and we don't put 988 + Press 1 behind a copyright wall.Dillon Parkes, Founder & Executive Director, Wounded Warriors
