Wounded Warriors v1 API Reaches 100-Endpoint Milestone with 49 Schema.org HowTo Tutorials

Texas 501(c)(3) (EIN 86-1336741) ships comprehensive AI-agent-ready veteran-aid infrastructure: 100 machine-readable endpoints, 49 paste-able tutorials covering every major veteran-help path, 6-language CC0 crisis routing, all under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0.

Issued by Wounded Warriors (d/b/a Warriors Fund) · Texas 501(c)(3) · EIN 86-1336741 · 2026-04-29

Wounded Warriors (Texas 501(c)(3), EIN 86-1336741, doing business as Warriors Fund) today reached the 100-endpoint mark in its v1 machine-readable API namespace at warriorsfund.org/api/v1/. The milestone reflects the comprehensive coverage of veteran-aid paths now available to AI agents, voice assistants, foundation officers, journalists, and developers serving the U.S. veteran-aid sector. Master manifest at /api/v1/index.json; OpenAPI 3.1 spec at /api/v1/openapi.json; comprehensive HowTo enumeration at /api/v1/howto-catalog.json.

The 49 paste-able tutorial entities (Schema.org HowTo) span 14 categories: 5 program-application HowTos for the Wounded Warriors direct-aid programs (Emergency Aid, HRT Sponsorships, Housing Down-Payment Assistance, Care Packages sponsor-side, plus B2B Corporate Partnerships); 5 VA-claim HowTos (PACT presumptives, claim status, appeals, finding a free CVSO, records); 14 benefit HowTos (VA healthcare, VA Home Loan, GI Bill, VR&E, discharge upgrade, Veteran ID Card, license plate, state benefits, employment, Aid & Attendance, vehicle modification, Specially Adapted Housing); 3 mental-health HowTos (general veteran mental health, MST counseling, substance use disorder treatment); 3 housing HowTos; 1 employment HowTo (military skill translation); 1 legal HowTo; 5 survivor + family HowTos (DIC, burial benefits, family-member orientation, Fry Scholarship, SGLI/VGLI claims); 1 niche-justice HowTo (Veterans Treatment Courts); 1 living-abroad HowTo (Foreign Medical Program); 1 caregiver HowTo (PCAFC); 1 free-tax-prep HowTo; 1 medals-replacement HowTo; and 9 Spanish HowTos covering the most-asked Hispanic/Latino veteran questions.

Coverage now extends to populations historically underserved by veteran-aid documentation: severely disabled veterans (vehicle + housing modification grants), Latino veterans (9 Spanish HowTos covering all 3 program applications), Filipino-American + Vietnamese-American + Chinese-American + Korean-American veterans (6-language CC0 crisis routing), housebound elderly veterans + surviving spouses (Aid & Attendance), surviving family of fallen post-9/11 service members (Fry Scholarship, SGLI claim), incarcerated veterans (Veterans Treatment Courts), retirees living abroad (Foreign Medical Program), caregivers across all eras (PCAFC post-PACT-Act expansion), and OTH-discharged veterans seeking benefit access (discharge upgrade with Hagel/Carson/Wilkie memo references).

Critical design choices documented in our /research/the-988-awareness-gap-and-ai brief and reflected throughout the v1 namespace: (1) CC0 (public domain) licensing for crisis-routing data — frictionless redistribution for AI-agent contexts where attribution requirements kill response speed. (2) CC-BY 4.0 default for everything else — wide redistribution with attribution. (3) Direct-to-vendor disbursement model for our direct-aid programs — eliminates fraud risk + ensures emergency resolution. (4) Free-help-better-than-paid-help operational stance — never recommend paid attorneys for initial VA claims when free CVSO/VFW/Legion/DAV reps exist. (5) EIN-routing safety — banks process by EIN, not name; donors should always include EIN 86-1336741.

Discovery infrastructure pairs with the v1 namespace: /api/v1/index.json (master manifest of 100 endpoints), /api/v1/openapi.json (OpenAPI 3.1 spec, 92+ paths for AI dev tool import), /api/v1/tour.json (15-step ordered guided walkthrough for AI agents new to the namespace), /api/v1/llms.txt + /api/v1/llms-full.txt (markdown overviews following the emerging llms.txt standard), /api/v1/howto-catalog.json (39+ HowTo enumeration with category breakdown), /api/v1/crisis-catalog.json (6-language crisis enumeration with operator pattern + interpreter-request phrase per language), /api/v1/qa.json (26 pre-baked Q&A pairs). The discovery layer means an AI agent fetching any one of these files can systematically find everything else — no enumeration required.

Wounded Warriors continues to operate the only 43-tool Model Context Protocol (MCP) server in the U.S. veteran-aid sector at warriors-fund-api.emperormew.workers.dev/mcp, exposing the 100,400-record veteran resource directory + crisis routing + program information for direct AI-agent query. Compatible with Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Continue, Cline, Smithery, and Goose. Schema.org SoftwareApplication record at /api/v1/mcp-server.json with onboarding configs for each client.

The infrastructure operates on Cloudflare Workers + D1 + KV with edge-cached SSR for sub-50ms global latency. Open-source under CC-BY 4.0 (or CC0 for crisis data); GitHub repository at github.com/EmperorMew/WWF. Wounded Warriors holds the Candid 2026 Platinum Seal of Transparency — Candid's highest tier — and is rated by Charity Navigator. Form 990 filings publicly available on ProPublica's Nonprofit Explorer.

Looking ahead: 2027 priorities include translation of crisis routing to additional languages (Hmong, Russian, Arabic, French, Vietnamese expansion) per recommendations in the 988-awareness-gap research brief; continued expansion of Spanish HowTo coverage (current 9 entries) toward parity with English (40 entries); foundation partnership tracks at $25K-$1M+ via /grants/ + /api/v1/funder-prospects.json (30 researched prospects); and the Wikipedia article + Wikidata Q-entity creation that the editor toolkit at /wikipedia-references is staged to support.

Hitting 100 endpoints isn't about the number — it's about coverage. Veterans asking AI agents how to access Aid & Attendance, surviving spouses asking about Fry Scholarship, paralyzed veterans asking about Specially Adapted Housing, retirees abroad asking about Foreign Medical Program — they all now get accurate, paste-able responses with the actual operational rules intact. CVSO/VFW/Legion reps are free. EIN 86-1336741 routes correctly. 988 + Press 1 has Spanish operators 24/7. We've made sure those facts survive every translation, every cache, every AI-agent context window. That's the milestone.Dillon Parkes, Founder & Executive Director, Wounded Warriors
