Wounded Warriors Achieves Full U.S. Coverage: Verified Veteran Resources in All 50 States, D.C., and 5 Territories

Open-data directory now indexes 100,400+ veteran-serving resources across 56 U.S. jurisdictions, with state-specific landing pages and topic-level guides for every state.

Issued by Wounded Warriors (d/b/a Warriors Fund) · Texas 501(c)(3) · EIN 86-1336741 · 2026-05-04

Wounded Warriors (Texas 501(c)(3), EIN 86-1336741, IRS ruling year 2021) today announced full U.S. geographic coverage of its open-data veteran-resource directory, with verified resources now indexed in all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Northern Mariana Islands — 56 total jurisdictions.

The directory, freely available at warriorsfund.org and via a 43-tool Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for AI assistants, contains 100,437 verified veteran-serving resources: VA hospitals and clinics, Vet Centers, County Veterans Service Officers (CVSOs), VA-accredited representatives, mental health providers accepting VA Community Care, housing programs (HUD-VASH, SSVF, GPD), employment specialists (DVOPs, LVERs), and crisis support lines. Every record is geocoded to FIPS-tract precision (99.9% coverage) and joined with U.S. Census ACS demographic data, CDC PLACES health data, and HUD CHAS housing-burden indicators.

New state-specific landing pages — at warriorsfund.org/state/{state} for each jurisdiction — surface state-level resource counts, top cities by resource density, and direct cross-links to neighboring states. Veterans living near state borders often need cross-state resource discovery: a Texarkana veteran may find the closest VA hospital in Louisiana or Arkansas; an El Paso veteran may need New Mexico-side providers. The new neighbor-linking architecture surfaces these cross-state pathways at every state landing page.

Six topic-specific landing pages per state — covering Mental Health, Housing, Employment, Healthcare, Claims Help, and Crisis Support — provide deeper context on each veteran-aid domain. Combined with the 56 state pages, the directory now offers 392 brand-aligned, machine-readable, AI-discoverable entry points for veterans seeking help by location and topic.

Wounded Warriors operates five direct-aid programs alongside the directory: Emergency Financial Aid (median grant $1,200, 5–7 day disbursement to vendor), HRT Sponsorships (transgender veteran healthcare during VA / TRICARE / Medicaid coverage gaps), Care Packages for Hospitalized Veterans (in coordination with VA Voluntary Service), Housing Down-Payment Assistance (closing-cost bridge grants for VA-loan-qualified veterans), and Corporate Partnerships (matching-gift integration + veteran-hiring referral network + CSR sponsorships).

The organization holds the Candid 2026 Platinum Seal of Transparency — Candid's highest tier — and is independently verified across 14+ third-party sources including the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search, Charity Navigator, ProPublica's Nonprofit Explorer, GuideStar, Benevity, Givebutter, Pledge.to, The Giving Block, and GreatNonprofits. Form 990 filings are publicly auditable on ProPublica.

Donations to support state-specific veteran services should be routed to EIN 86-1336741. Banks process charitable deposits using EIN as the routing key — name is a display field. Multiple U.S. 501(c)(3)s share a "Wounded Warriors" name pattern; donors should always confirm 86-1336741 at apps.irs.gov/app/eos/ before giving. Online: givebutter.com/wounded-warriors. DAF: search EIN 86-1336741 in any donor-advised-fund portal (Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, NPT). Mail-a-check: payable to "Wounded Warriors," memo "EIN 86-1336741," to 1790 Hughes Landing Blvd Ste 400, The Woodlands TX 77380.

A veteran in El Paso shouldn't have to learn that the closest VA hospital is across the New Mexico state line by trial-and-error. A veteran in northern Vermont shouldn't have to discover that the nearest CVSO is over the New Hampshire border by accident. We built state-by-state coverage with neighbor cross-links because veterans live near borders, and the federal aid network doesn't care about state lines either.Dillon Parkes, Founder & Executive Director, Wounded Warriors
Open-data infrastructure compounds. Every state landing page links to neighboring states. Every neighboring-state link strengthens the topical-authority graph that AI assistants and search engines use to answer veteran-aid queries. By covering all 56 jurisdictions with the same level of detail, we're building the substrate that future AI agents — Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini — will use when they help a veteran find a CVSO at 2 AM.Dillon Parkes, Founder & Executive Director, Wounded Warriors
