Wounded Warriors' open-data infrastructure produces per-congressional-district veteran demographics, tract-level service-desert maps, and federal-grade policy briefs free to Members of Congress, congressional staff, and federal agency partners. Pulled live from Census ACS + CDC PLACES + our directory.
Single endpoint returns veteran demographics for any US congressional district (118th Congress): total population, population 18+, total veterans, veteran share, poverty count + percentage, unemployment, median household income, median gross rent.
Sample query for Texas-12:
curl https://warriors-fund-api.emperormew.workers.dev/api/congressional-district/TX/12
Returns JSON with all demographics. Without a CD parameter, returns all districts in the state ranked by veteran count — useful for cross-district staff comparisons.
Use case: 5-minute fact-sheet creation for any town hall, legislative briefing, or constituent meeting.
Identifies tracts where many veterans live but few resources serve them — useful for steering federal grant dollars (HUD-VASH, SSVF, BJA Veteran Treatment Court) toward underserved districts.
curl https://warriors-fund-api.emperormew.workers.dev/api/coverage-gaps?state=TX&min_veterans=100
Single endpoint returns the complete picture for any state: ACS demographics roll-up, resource counts by type, top-5 service deserts, top-5 highest-depression tracts, top-5 severe-rent-burden tracts, top-10 resources, crisis-line + CVSO + donor links.

Wounded Warriors publishes a Project Open Data v1.1 catalog at /data.json for federal Data.gov harvesters. Four datasets joining federal sources (Census ACS, CDC PLACES, ACS housing) with our verified veteran-resource directory.
Federal agencies can pull our datasets the same way they pull other agency catalogs — DCAT 1.1-conformant, no auth required, CC-BY 4.0 licensed.
HUD-VASH and SSVF program offices can use our tract-level rent-burden + veteran-density join to identify high-priority areas for grant deployment. /api/housing-context/high-burden
Hypertension was added to Agent Orange presumptive list in 2024. Veterans previously denied can refile via Supplemental Claim. Our infrastructure surfaces 84 presumptive conditions across Agent Orange / PACT burn-pit / Camp Lejeune / Gulf War / radiation eras.
